About PCAGC
Collectors Serving Collectors Since 2004.
Professional Collectibles Appraiser’s Grading Corporation (PCAGC) is an independent, mail-in collectibles grading and authentication company based in Huntington, West Virginia. We help collectors protect, understand, and document the value and condition of the items they care about.
Our mission is straightforward: provide accurate, impartial, and affordable grading that collectors and investors can trust. We serve clients nationwide across multiple collecting categories, including coins, comic books, sports cards, action figures and toys, stamps, and autographs.
Our Story
PCAGC was founded by collector David C. Mayberry. His work in collectibles began in 2004 with David C. Mayberry & Company, a collectibles store in Aracoma, Logan County, West Virginia. After customers began requesting grading services, he expanded into collectibles grading in 2005 with a focus on making professional service more accessible and affordable.
In 2018, the grading operation became DCM Graded Collectibles Corp., separating it from the retail business so the company could focus exclusively on grading and authentication. In 2026, it became Professional Collectibles Appraiser’s Grading Corporation (PCAGC). The company reports having graded, authenticated, appraised, and certified more than 600,000 collectibles throughout its history.
Our Standards
- Accuracy first: Each item is evaluated using documented, category-specific grading criteria.
- Impartial evaluation: We assess the collectible itself and apply the same standards to every customer.
- Clear expectations: Our grading scales, service options, and estimated turnaround times are published so submitters know what to expect.
- Accessible pricing: We believe professional grading and authentication should be available to everyday collectors, not only high-value dealers and investors.
The PCAGC Difference
A collectible’s grade is only as meaningful as the care, consistency, and documentation behind it. PCAGC combines category-specific evaluation with secure, tamper-evident encapsulation to help collectors preserve and present their items with confidence.
Every Standard and Express submission includes a physical PCAGC Certification of Grade (COG), which brings the item’s condition summary, grade, appraisal, and authentication together in one report.
